The Denver Outlaws World Burrito Eating Championship Presented By Illegal Pete’s

Location: Denver, CO
Date: 05-27-2017
Winner: Joey Chestnut, with a 13.5 Burritos in 10 min!

CHESTNUT DEFENDS BURRITO TITLE!

Joey Chestnut successfully defended his Denver Outlaws World Burrito Eating Championship Presented By Illegal Pete’s title by eating 13.5 burritos in just 10 minutes. His total was six entire burritos greater than the second place finisher, Josh Miller, who finished with 7.5. This is not to denigrate the performance of Miller and the remainder of the field—in fact, Miller should be warmly applauded for finishing second. It simply serves to illustrate just how dominant Chestnut is and it speaks to the form he is in. He did not need to be pushed to lodge an impressive title, just one shy of his 2016 WR mark of 14.5 burritos in 10 minutes.

Chestnut did not come to play. (Does he ever?) From the starter's gun, he was fast, smooth, clean and unrelenting. Delicious burrito after delicious burrito would resign themselves to the same happy fate—to be consumed by the greatest eater who has ever lived. If you were a burrito—and you are not, despite your dreams—can you think of a better way to go? No. No, you can not.

Tip of the boater to Denver area local Andrew Renfrow and sometimes retired/somtimes not eater Bryan "Big Sexy" Beard, an eater who is loved by all across the MLE universe.
