Corntopia. Cornapalooza. Cornmageddon. None of these monikers come close to the true majesty of the National Sweet Corn Eating Championship. It needs no pomp or fluff. It simply stands majestic. Which is why Major League Eating is proud to announce its return for the 2019 season. As is tradition, the event will be held at the Yesteryear Village at the South Florida Fairground as part of the Sweet Corn Fiesta celebration of all things corn-based and good. Major League Eaters from near and far are warmly encouraged to sign up for their chance to test themselves against ear of Florida sweet corn after ear of Florida sweet corn over 12 minutes of demanding competition. At last year’s event, Carmen Cincotti of New Jersey ate 58 ears of Florida sweet corn in 12 minutes. Cincotti’s record of 61.75 ears in 12 minutes, set in 2017, will be on the line at this year’s Championship, along with a deep prize purse of $6,100!
Who amongst MLE's finest will seize the corn crown this year? Will you be the one to break Cincotti’s world record? Will you win the event but fall short? Will you come third? Ninth?
