Major League Eating is proud to announce the return of the National Sweet Corn Eating Championship for 2018—a truly legendary event on our annual slate of sanctioned eating contests. This year's event will be held, as is tradition, at the Yesteryear Village at the South Florida Fairground as part of the Sweet Corn Fiesta celebration of all things corn-based and good. Major League Eaters from near and far are warmly encouraged to sign up for their chance to test themselves against ear of Florida sweet corn after ear of Florida sweet corn over 12 minutes of demanding competition. Pro tip: bring floss.
At last year’s event, Carmen Cincotti of New Jersey ate 61.75 ears of Florida sweet corn in 12 minutes to set a new world record in a display of supreme power eating. They said that Yasir Salem’s 2016 record of 47 would never be broken and those who said it wrong.
Who amongst MLE's finest will seize the corn crown this year? Will Cincotti defend his title? Will he break his own world record? Will you? It’s all conjecture until the emcee calls time and the adjudication is complete. So be there to witness history unfold. This is the 2018 National Sweet Corn Eating Championship—at the table or in the crowd, don’t you ever miss it!
