The Dell’Osso Family Farm Baconfest World Bacon Eating Championship
Location: Lathrop, CA
Total Prizes: $4,000 total cash purse
REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT WILL OPEN ON MONDAY JULY 10TH, 2017 AT 10AM LATHROP, CA, TIME!
Major League Eating is proud to announce the return of The Dell’Osso Family Farm Baconfest World Bacon Eating Championship to our 2017 slate of sanctioned eating contests. Major League Eaters are warmly encouraged to sign up to compete in this battle between man and woman and bacon over eight minutes of delicious competition. The event will be held once again at The Dell’Osso Family Farm Baconfest—an annual celebration of bacon, beer and live bands.
At last year's inaugural championship, the world's top-ranked female eater, Miki Sudo, triumphed in an overtime matchup against Michelle Lesco; both eaters consumed eight pounds of bacon in eight minutes of regulation competition. Sudo was happy; Lesco was noble and gracious, as anyone who has had the pleasure of getting to know her would expect. Local hero Steve Hendry would finish in the third place. And while others ate less, there can be no losers in a bacon-eating contest and so there were no losers. Because it is bacon and bacon is good. It needs no more explaining.
Do you dare challenge yourself against pound upon pound of delicious bacon? Do you dare challenge the greatest eaters own the world? Does the idea of eating bacon in the warm light of California in the early fall sound just about perfect? This is The Dell’Osso Family Farm Baconfest World Bacon Eating Championship. At the table or in the crowd—don't you ever miss it!

About Dell’Osso Family Farm!
Dell’Osso Farm was founded in the 1920’s by three brothers from Italy who started farming asparagus. Rudy Dell’Osso, the son of one the original brothers, took over the farm in the 1950’s and diversified into growing tomatoes, beans and alfalfa. In the mid 1970’s, Ron Dell’Osso, Rudy’s son, joined the business and added pumpkins, melons and sweet corn to the crop rotation. In 1997, Ron and his wife Susan, started the first Corn Maze and the Halloween event has grown into a Haunted House, Pumpkin Blaster and much more. The Dell’Osso Family Farm October event has grown into one of the most popular Halloween season destinations in the nation, with approximately 250,000 people visiting the site each October. The event still remains a family operation, with the entire Dell’Osso family participating. The farm also hosts other events throughout the year.
