National Sweet Corn Eating Championship

Major League Eating is proud to announce the return of the National Sweet Corn Eating Championship for 2015. This year's event will be held, in accordance with tradition, at the Yesteryear Village at the South Florida Fairgrounds on Sunday April 26th. The National Sweet Corn Eating Championship is a Grand Dame of the competitive eating circuit—a beloved establishment figure in the eating community and one who demands respect. This ain't no picnic.

The Sweet Corn discipline is among the toughest on the competitive eating circuit. Success here depends on the relentless and rigorous application of technique. Winners here have a plan and they do their job. They pick a technique—The Typewriter, The Shredder, The Technique That Dares Not Speak Its Name—and they stick with it over 12 grueling minutes. They prevail more than win. They endure. They remain unbowed.

Last year's event was won by Crazy Legs Conti, who ate 43 ears of corn in 12 minutes. For his efforts, he was awarded a very large trophy that was later paraded at venerable Miami Beach hotspot Mac's Club Deuce. Patrons of the bar remarked how large it was and asked if they could pose for photos with it. When they did, they enjoyed the reflected glow of Major League Eating success. It's a healthy glow—great for photos.

Who amongst MLE's finest will triumph this year? Will CLC repeat for the win? Will another eater take his corn-encrusted crown? Will it be you? At the table or in the crowd, don’t you ever miss the 2015 National Sweet Corn Eating Championship! See you there.
