MATT STONIE SETS NEW PEPPERONI ROLL-EATING RECORD WITH 34 IN TEN MINUTES!
All hail the prince. At the 2015 edition of the West Virginia Three Rivers Festival Pepperoni Roll Eating World Championship, Matt Stonie ate 34 pepperoni rolls in 10 minutes to set a new WR, besting the previous mark of 33. Matt Stonie's incredible start to his 2015 campaign show no signs of slowing down, as the slim-hipped prodigy sets his sights ever higher, buoyed by impressive result after impressive result.
Some are calling him the best eater in the world; Joey Chestnut begs to differ. They will settle their differences the old-fashioned way and the way MLE thinks best: By eating head-to-head in sanctioned competition. It's like a breakdance battle only with food and less tracksuits.
Miki Sudo impressed for second. Adrian Morgan and Michelle Lesco finished third and fourth, respectively. Juliet Lee, ever graceful, came fifth, while Jim Reeves finished sixth. But the evening belonged to Stonie: Another contest, another win, another World Record. The Stonie Army gathers strength with every mile it marches. Full results below.

Pepperoni Rolls are a regional cuisine. The classic pepperoni roll consists of a soft white yeast bread roll with pepperoni baked in the middle. It is delicious. The rolls originated as a lunch option for the coal miners of north-central West Virginia in the first half of the 20th century. The Roll that is sanctioned for The West Virginia Three Rivers Festival Pepperoni Roll Eating World Championship weighs 3.25 ounces. The World Record stands at 33 in 10 minutes—that's almost 7 lbs of white bread and pepperoni.
