The B.O.B. is back! It took him 553 days, but Bob "Notorious B.O.B." Shoudt ended his streak and stepped back into the winner's circle by winning the Isle Casino Bettendorf Maid-Rite Sandwich Eating World Championship. Shoudt - who was rumored to have contemplated taking back his Mr. Humble moniker - ate 20 sandwiches in 10 minutes to win the $1,500 first place cash prize.
In second place was the pride of Dubuque and area favorite Aaron "A-train" Osthoff who ate 15 sandwiches. Chicago's Ben "the Hungry Wolf" Taylor and Marshalltown's Mark Williams shared in a tie for third place with 12 sandwiches each.
The win marked the third Isle of Capri Eating Championship in Shoudt's career. In January 2010, Shoudt won the Isle's first-ever event in Biloxi featuring peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Now that the streak is over, when will hear the B.O.B. roar again?
