CP Foods, Asia’s leading food brand and conglomerate under the Charoen Pokphand Group, will present the second installment of CP Biggest Eater Competition, exclusively featuring wontons in Major League Eating competitions.

CP Biggest Eater Competition 2011-2012 is five times bigger than its debut in Singapore last year as it goes regional to include competition stops in Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, and Thailand, and a Grand Finale in Bangkok in February.

An estimated whopping 1,600 local participants are expected to compete in the regional competitions this year to vie for attractive cash prizes of nearly $30,000 in total, on top of opportunities for the male and female champions from the local Finals in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand to compete at the Grand Finale in Bangkok on 11 February 2012.

These local champions will battle it out for the coveted title of the CP Biggest Eater Grand Champion 2011-2012 (Male / Female).

To join the locals at each regional stop will be top-ranked Major League Eaters including #1-ranked Joey Chestnut, Pat "Deep Dish" Bertoletti, Eater X, Sonya "the Black Widow" Thomas, Erik "the Red" Denmark, Juliet Lee and Crazy Legs Conti. The MLE pros will take on each other in exhibitions at each of the five CP Biggest Eater finals events.

Competitions will be held at the following dates and locations:

October 22, 2011 - Singapore November 19, 2011 - Melbourne, Australia November 27, 2011 - Hong Kong February 4, 2012 - Bangkok February 11, 2012 - Bangkok (Grand Finale)

About CP Biggest Eater Competition Launched in 2010 to much fanfare and resounding success in Singapore, the inaugural CP Biggest Eater Competition attracted close to 400 participants and more than 1,000 spectators in the finale where Ng Chin Sheng (with 115 CP Shrimp Wontons) and Koh Yeow Thien (with 70 CP Shrimp Wontons) were crowned the male and female CP Biggest Eater respectively. The intense atmosphere was pushed to feverish heights when world professional eaters Joey Chestnut, Takeru Kobayashi and Juliet Lee showcased their astounding eating skills amidst roaring cheers from the massive crowd. In the end, Joey Chestnut narrowly edged out Takeru Kobayashi to set a new record of 380 shrimp wontons eaten in eight minutes.
