National Sweet Corn Eating Championship

Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Date: 04-17-2011
Winner: Crazy Legs Conti

Crazy Legs Conti ate 33.5 ears of corn to fend off the 2009 Sweet Corn Eating Champ and the #3-ranked eater in the world to claim the 2011 National Sweet Corn Eating Championship.

In what is widely regarded as one of the most technical events on the MLE Circuit, Crazy Legs showed why he circles the Sweet Corn Fiesta on his calendar each year. The '07 champ stepped back into the winner's circle while earning $2,000 in the process.

Bob "Notorious B.O.B." Shoudt took second place with 32.5 ears in his first-ever appearance at the sweet corn table. Shoudt, one of MLE's most active eaters, was surprised at the oral dexterity needed to thrive in the event.

The win for Crazy Legs also ruined the successful comeback bid of Hall Hunt, who hadn't competed in the event since winning in 2009. Hunt ate 31 ears to take third place.
