Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest - Naval Air Station Oceana

Sunday, June 6 marked a special day at the 2010 Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest Circuit visited the Commissary at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA to stage a contest.

The event, which was put on with Specialty Foods Group, saw Andrew Bosque eat 12 Nathan's hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes to captivate a field of local amateurs. The youngest competitor in the contest at 18 years old proved to have the biggest appetite as 11 of his elders couldn't keep up throughout the contest.

Bosque is a Commonwealth Challenge Academy Cadet which is part of the National Guard Youth Challenge Program.

The Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest has become part of America's Independence Day celebration and this year, fans from across the country will have the opportunity to cheer on two true heros on the Coney Island stage. As part of its 2010 Fourth of July celebration, Nathan’s Famous also intends to provide a hot dog lunch to 100,000 U.S. troops stationed overseas.
