Badlands Booker made his visit to Boston well worth it on Saturday, May 8th, winning the Nathan's Famous qualifying contest at Patriot Place after eating 38.5 Nathan's Famous hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. 2010 will mark Booker's ninth trip to Coney Island for the July 4th event over the past ten years.
In what was primed to be a close competition, Booker had other ideas winning by more than eight hot dogs to his next closest competitor in last year's Foxboro Champ Sean Gordon (30 HDB's).
Long Island veteran Allen "Shredder" Goldstein finished in third place posting a more than respectable 28.75 and hometown hero, Pete Davekos fell short of the storybook victory after eating 26.5 HDB's.
Female competitor Larell Marie Mele turned heads after eating 14 Nathan's Famous hot dogs and buns in her MLE debut.
