The finest eaters in Kansas will converge at a Dillon’s Food Store in Wichita in an effort to win the title of Kansas Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog-Eating Champion. The event will feature local competitive eating talent as well as a police department and sheriff’s office round.

The contest, which will occur at 1 pm on June 4, is sponsored by Specialty Foods Group, which produces the world famous Nathan’s Famous hot dogs, among other items.

“We are excited to host this unique brand of entertainment,” said Su-Ella McKinzie of Dillon’s. “Kansas residents will finally have the chance to prove their competitive eating talent, and the Wichita contest will be an event at which we identify future eating greatness.”

NOTE: This is not a qualifier event - the winner of the event will not secure a seat on July 4th in Coney Island.
