Nathan's Famous World French Fry-Eating Championship

Cookie Jarvis came back big today in Oceanside, NY, winning the Nathan's Famous World French Fry Eating Championship by downing a total of 4.46 pounds of the famous crinkle cut fries in six minutes.

The three-round elimination series included Badlands Booker, Charles Hardy, Tim Janus, Brian Seiken, Leon Feingold, Don Lerman, Bob Shoudt, Jason Kokoska, Allen Goldstein, Corrie Monson and Crazy Legs Conti.

In a surprise upset, the final four included Tim Janus, Leon Fengold, Bob Shoudt and Cookie Jarvis. Once in the final round, Jarvis showed supreme confidence, getting into a zone and staying there until the whistle blew.

Tim Janus placed second in the event and Leon Feingold placed third. The high definition network, IN HD, will feature the contest as part of its "Tour de Gorge" series.

The contest was an homage to Nathan’s Famous Crinkle Cut French Fries, which have created generations of devotees around the world since Nathan’s Famous was founded in 1916.
