Sausage seems to be a new trend at the competitive eating table lately.
The Utah State Fair hosted the GoldenPalace.net World Italian Sausage Eating Championship, and Colosimo Sausage (made in Utah) provided the savory and delicious links for the competition. These sausages were specially made for the competitive eaters and were built for speed.
Joey Chestnut ate 29 Colosimo Italian sausages for the win.
In second place, with 25.5 eight inch sweet sausages was Dead Kennedy's fan Pat Bertoletti. In third was Frankie Valley fan Rich the Locust Lefevre. Not afraid of the young guns, LeFevre downed 21.5 sausages.
Happy valley local, Levi Nelson placed 4th.
